The Federation of Connecticut Taxpayer Organizations, Inc.

Introduces its

Officers and Board of Directors

On March 3, 2007, The Federation of Connecticut Taxpayer Organizations, Inc. held its annual organizational meeting where the following Officers and Board Members were elected.

The Federation of Connecticut Taxpayer Organizations, Inc. (FCTO) is a 501c4 nonprofit organization founded in Connecticut in the mid 1980s under the name Connecticut Association of Taxpayer Organizations.  Our organization has been sustained by its many dedicated members who remain committed to promoting and strengthening the ideals of our country’s founding fathers…

A GOVERNMENT OF, FOR AND BY THE PEOPLE

FCTO’s goal is to promote fiscal austerity in all levels of government thereby constraining the tax burden on local and state taxpayers. As a government watchdog, FCTO provides a system of checks and balances with the intent of protecting taxpayers from unnecessary taxation and government mismanagement or corruption. Our belief is that the only Special Interest in government should be the taxpayers from whom government draws its financial resources.

Our immediate and long term goals include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Reform the Property Tax System
  • Reform Binding Arbitration and Prevailing Wage Laws
  • Require Union Contracts and Disputes to be Negotiated and Resolved Publicly
  • Amend the State Constitution to allow for Citizen Initiative and Referendum and Protection from Eminent Domain Abuse
  • Enforce the State’s Spending Cap
  • Eliminate all Unfunded State Mandates
  • Reduce the Property Tax Burden through Fiscal Austerity and Reduced Spending
  • Promote Quality Education and School Choice
  • Promote High Ethical Standards in Government
  • Promote Citizen Activism and Voter Participation

FCTO serves its members through research and advocacy on significant tax and spending issues on the local, state, and national levels.

By forming a partnership with FCTO, you, as a taxpayer, have an opportunity to improve the quality of life for yourself, your family and your community.

In the words of Thomas Jefferson,

ETERNAL VIGILANCE IS THE PRICE OF LIBERTY
